2026- 2028 HBAF Strategic Plan
The HBAF Strategic Plan guides our work and priorities as we continue to strengthen the home building industry across the Sandhills. This three-year plan reflects our commitment to membership, advocacy, and workforce development.
Membership Goal: broaden our regional reach to attract, serve, and retain members throughout the Sandhills area and develop onboarding and re‑engagement pathways for new and inactive members.
Strategies:
- Develop onboarding and re-engagement pathways for new and inactive members
- Achieve 80% retention rate
- Establish, communicate, and implement a set of core values
- Craft a marketing plan based on the idea of “did you know…” that highlights specific membership benefits
- Increase personal calls to engage or reengage members by hosting a call-a-thon at committee meetings
- Be intentional at meetings and events to engage with new members
- Increase Professional Women in Building of the Sandhills membership to 100
- Increase the number of Professional Women in Building of the Sandhills members engaging with HBAF social media
Government Affairs Goal: advance policies that support favorable market conditions to deliver attainable housing throughout the Sandhills region.
Strategies:
- Increase our influence through relationship, coalition and education
- Increase number of members contributing to Build PAC through events and education
- Establish dedicated advocacy teams aligned with each key jurisdiction we serve to strengthen our influence and responsiveness
Workforce Development Goal: lead workforce development at all education levels across the Sandhills to promote careers in the homebuilding industry.
Strategies:
- Host quarterly trade specific tours at FTCC
- Increase funding contributions to the associations endowment for scholarship at FTCC
- Increase awareness of skilled trade and construction career pathways through the expansion of the PWBS Reading Week initiative.
- Continue to engage in high school field trips to member trade specific companies
