Welcome to the Professional Women in Building of the Sandhills (PWBS) at HBAF! Our mission is to support professional women in the building industry through education, networking, and community enhancement.

Who We Are

Chartered in February 2024, the PWBS is the first council within the HBAF. We’re dedicated to fostering a strong community for women in the construction industry while welcoming all HBAF members to join our mission.

Membership

Membership in the PWBS is open to all HBAF members for $100 per year. Your dues support both local and national initiatives, with half going to the NAHB PWB and the other half staying within our council. Current membership stands at 65 strong and growing!

Our Initiatives

The PWBS proudly partners with Fayetteville Urban Ministries, where we’ve established the PWB Clothing Closet, providing professional attire to women seeking job opportunities. Our goal is to remodel the full closet, creating a welcoming and empowering space for all who use it.

Events and Leadership

Our goal is to host four events each year, offering opportunities to connect, learn, and give back. The council is governed by a board of directors, with representation based on membership size.
