The Home Builders Association of Fayetteville & the Fayetteville Habitat for Humanity teamed together to build 5 houses in 5 days.
June 5-9, 2006 |
The Home Builders Association of Fayetteville enthusiastically participated in the 2006 Home Builders Blitz. This project provided the opportunity for 5 hardworking low-income families to purchase 5 affordable homes right here in Fayetteville.
Eighteen builder members of the Home Builders Association of Fayetteville took the lead to work together to build five houses with Fayetteville Area Habitat for Humanity as a part of a nationwide event. The five Fayetteville families were carefully screened and approved by the Habitat Board. The families purchased their homes with a no profit/no interest loan. The homeowners’ monthly mortgage payments will be placed in the Habitat Phoenix Fund to be recycled to build more Habitat homes. The total market value of the Blitz Homes built in Fayetteville is in excess of $300,000.
Affordable housing has always been a goal of our industry. The 2006 Home Builders Blitz takes it to the next level. These families could not otherwise qualify for housing with a conventional mortgage. |
